Intel and UltraSuede Offer Touchable Laptop PC

Intel and Toray Ultrasuede are all set to deliver trendy laptop PCs for the fashion-conscious. Each laptop, powered by Intel Centrino mobile technology, reeks of style and features Ultrasuede delivering "a unique, personal touch to mobile computing

Ultrasuede is a micro-fiber fabric that is directly integrated into the casing of the laptop, designed to change the look and feel completely. Yeah, after being used to the drab black/gray laptops, I couldn't believe the image on the right was a laptop until I took a closer look.

It's about time, as well. Style is no longer confined to the Mac afficianados. The laptops also offer wireless computing capabilities. Let's hope the price factor does not play a major role here

The Outside Reflects Gaming Power on the Inside

To start things off, the doesn’t look like your boring, old PC. This is one mean-looking gaming machine. It is equipped with an NZXT LEXA Blackline Chassis which sports a menacing black and red color theme.

To give this PC a more unique look, the front and back panels slightly protrude above the chassis’ top portion. In addition, a contoured surface gives these panels a distinctly edgy feel. You’ll also find pre-installed neon lights inside the casing. These make the sides glow a fierce red, as if hinting at the power this PC can potentially produce.

Looks aside, this chassis proves it is worthy of gaming use with its performance-oriented features. Components run cool since . The interior is large enough so as to accommodate and assimilate complex liquid cooling systems. What’s more, the chassis also boasts of temperature indicators to alarm you right away in case one of your components reaches a certain level of heat.

Made out of thick steel, the chassis protects everything that is inside, making it perfect if you’re the type who likes going to LAN gaming parties and gaming events. The PC also possesses built-in dust filters to ensure the PC is protected from dust. A screwless installation mechanism and a roomy interior make it easy to install just about any component, including bulky dual graphics card setups.

Intel helps to bring the Internet to your TV

Widgets are migrating from the web/PC desktop, to the mobile phone, and now to the TV set. Dubbed the “Connected TV” experience, Intel showcased several upcoming devices utilizing the new Intel Media Processor CE 3100 and enabling the new “Widget Channel” application framework.
Announced back in 2008 and developed by Intel and Yahoo, the “Widget Channel” delivers Internet content directly to your television set via devices such as Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, and of course the TV set. TV Widgets from all sorts of content service providers have been developed since the launch of the Widget Channel including widgets from AP, CBS, CinemaNow, eBay, MySpace, and Yahoo! Here are several pictures of widget enabled devices from the Intel CES 2009 booth. We’ll show some of the vendor specific devices later on (including HDTV sets from Samsung, Toshiba and others).

Intel's latest Extreme Hardware!

The whole process took me a couple of hours, and I’ll most likely be tweaking a bit more over the next week or so. Here are a few photos to show the build-up over the weekend.
This is all of the stuff that I was preparing to upgrade with, lots of stuff comes with the Smackover board - cables, IOH fan, drivers, games, etc. I already had the case, PSU, SSD, Video Card, spindle hard drive, DVD/RW from my previous PC.

Rumor: PS4 GPU To Be Designed By Intel

Intel scores PlayStation 4 GPU design.
Tech site The Inquirer managed to coax some early details on the next generation of console while at CES 2009 earlier this year. The new report states that Intel has scored the contract for the next PlayStation GPU by essentially buying the bid.
The report continues that Intel was likely awarded the contract thanks to their healthy business, low debt and essentially, being a stable economy in today’s rock economy. Competitors ATI (owned by debt-laden AMD) and N’Vidia simply could not offer the same piece of mind.
On the flip side, ATI is reported as the front runner for PS4’s competitors, the Wii 2 and Xbox 3. ATI has designed all of the GPU’s in Nintendo’s system since they moved into the third dimension, so that is a no brainer. N’Vidia apparently buried themselves in Microsoft’s camp, due to their falling out over the original Xbox and issues with designing Vista’s Direct X 10.

Five flavors of Intel's P35 Express compared

WHEN WE FIRST REVIEWED Intel's P35 Express back in May, we called the chipset a solid successor to the P965. That might not sound like an enthusiastic endorsement, but the P965 Express has been a fantastic platform for mainstream users and enthusiasts alike, leaving the P35 with rather large shoes to fill. Part of what made the P965 so successful was the wave of motherboards based on it that offered competitive performance, loads of overclocking potential, CrossFire multi-GPU support, and thoughtful onboard extras while consuming relatively little power and operating largely in silence. Those boards came with relatively affordable price tags, too, making the P965 the darling of the enthusiast community.

Its performance is better performance than prior product family. The other technical benefit of this model is the latest Intel QPI (Intel QuickPath Interconnect) Technology. A big advantage is that it is point-to-point archtecture. There is no single bus that all the processors must use and contend with each other to reach memory and I/O. It also improves scalability, eliminating the competition between processors for bus bandwidth. BIOSTAR TPower X58 provides record setting 6.4GT/s QPI support and offers flexible memory support options including up to 1600MHz native DDR3-1866MHz memory support with TPower X58.

Intel Urban max

One of the more novel devices demonstrated was the 10-inch Intel UrbanMax a computer that can switch between a laptop and tablet. This by itself isn't groundbreaking because tablet PCs from Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba already do this. The novelty is the size and design: it is smaller than an ultraportable--like the Toshiba Portege--yet is designed like an oversize mobile Internet device such as Compal JAX 10. When configured as a tablet, the keyboard is hidden but can morph into a laptop by sliding out the keyboard, which tilts the screen. intel UrbanMax concept design has a 10-inch screen and uses special low-power Centrino 2 processors

Intel’s QX6850 Processor, The Best Processor In the World

The 3.0ghz quad core processor, 1333mhz FSB, 8mb cache. Is that worth $1200? Then there is the extra cost, you have to have a motherboard designed to support this chip, you have to have either an Intel G33, P35, or X38 chipset motherboard, or a BIOS-updated nforce 600-series board from nvidia. Any of these will cost at least $100 from newegg. And with Intel’s penryn processor being released next year, will this processor actually sell? Well if it hasn’t sold it has certainly cornered the quad core market, and made itself the worlds greatest processor.

Intel’s Funky Check-out

Intel is learning a few tricks from Apple: design counts. The company is introducing sleek new self-serve check-out terminals. The kiosks work with the customer’s RFID loyalty card and provides in-store incentives and recommendations. One key feature is they use 90% less energy than standard cash registers. has been a prominent goal for Intel - and this is another manifestation of their research. The product manager for Intel’s Embedded Computing Division says that the kiosk was designed to show the future, “And people don’t like looking at motherboards
